Trinity Tots

A fun, friendly community for 0-4s and their grown ups

Trinity Tots are run by members of Holy Trinity Church for the residents of the local community living in and around Hertford Heath.

The groups are for children aged 0-4 and the adults who look after them. We aim to provide a place where both you and your children can make friends, have fun and relax.

We are open on Tuesdays between 10am and 11:30am, during school term time. There is a small voluntary fee of £2 per child for each session.

Our activities each week include lots of toys to play with, a craft activity, singing and lots of other fun, PLUS free tea, coffee, toast, drinks and biscuits for everyone.

On the first Tuesday of each month, at the end of the normal session, we have Toddler Praise where we all gather for a short interactive Christian talk, singing, fun and a special take home gift.

Trinity Kids are run by members of Holy Trinity Church for the residents of the local community living in and around Hertford Heath.

The group is for primary aged children and the adults who look after them. We aim to provide a place where both you and your children can make friends, have fun, and relax.

We are open on Tuesdays between 3.15pm and 4.15pm, during school term time. Our activities each week include lots of craft activities, some of them very messy, and toys to play with. PLUS, free tea, coffee, milkshakes and biscuits for everyone. Drop in after school for some end of the day fun. You make the mess, and we clean it up.

The Repair Shop

Sustainable HH

repair shop

Once a month we hold a repair shop where we encourage the local community to seek a repair rather than a replacement for a broken item.

A team of volunteers mans the repair shop and each month we are faced with an eclectic mix broken things. We have a number of successes where something is brought back into operation and saved from the waste stream. No single item is going to save the planet but a cumulative effect and reinforcement of the underlying message of trying to make things last longer will have a positive effect.

There is no charge for the repair but we ask for reimbursement of any materials used and welcome a donation if the repair is judged to be of value.

The Repair Shop is held in the Mission Room on the 3rd Sunday of the month. The shop opens at 2pm and runs until 5pm. So if you’ve got something to fix or would like to be part of the team that tries to puzzle out how to fix the broken things then please come along.

Once a month there is a litter pick that sets out to  “clean up” one of the four roads that lead into and out of Hertford Heath. Picking up litter is a curious mixture of righteous indignation that the litter is there tinged with an inner satisfaction during the process of picking it all up.

All equipment is provided including litter sacks, pickers, gloves and high visibility jackets, we advise that participants where strong boots and suitable clothing for the job and the weather.

We meet up at 10am on the 4th Saturday of each month at one of four agreed locations and pick for a couple of hours finishing at about 12noon.  Sadly the litter picking routes are all on busy roads so not ideal for young children but teenagers accompanied by parents are very welcome.

The Goat

The Goat Public House

The popular monthly quiz at The Goat takes place on the last Thursday of the month when teams of up to six people from all over the village compete for cash prizes.

There are five rounds of questions on a chosen theme with the last round being a ‘wipe-out’ round.  Get one question out of ten wrong and you lose all the points for that round.  Get them all right and your team earns an extra five points.

The Chips of Shame

First prize is £75 in cash with the runners-up receiving £25 and the team in last place enjoying the ‘chips of shame’ as a consolation.

Booking is essential and tables can be reserved by calling the Goat team on 01992 535788.  You can make a night of it by enjoying a meal beforehand but please book for early evening as food service stops before the quiz starts.
