3 September 2022
1- 5pm & 8pm
Sustainable Hertford Heath’s (SHH) Fayre-ly Big Picnic is back again, starting at 1pm on Saturday 3rd September 2022, and it promises to be a fun-filled yet informal afternoon.
The popular annual community picnic promises sideshows, games and stalls run by local societies and organisations. So bring along a chair or blanket, a sandwich or two, some spare change and relax with neighbours and friends.
Return in plenty of time for the 8pm showing of BIG HERO SIX on the open-air screen courtesy of the Goat.VIEW THE TIMETABLE
One of the aims of SHH is to promote renewable energy. Renewable energy generated by solar and wind farms have become a common sight, contributing to satisfying the national electricity demand rising above fossil fuels to 40% of the total in the first 3 months of 2022.
At previous Picnic’s we have focusseed on renewable energy. At one event the PA system was powered by g a pedal bike-based generator. The following year a solar system and battery powered the sound system.
For 2022, we are exploring opportunities to take part in larger scale renewable energy schemes both locally and nationally. Various schemes will be highlighted that are designed to enable investment in alternative energy schemes such as wave power, individual wind turbines, solar farms and many more.
What could be better than a night out at the cinema? A perfect way to end the day. The Goat once again presents the cinema on the village green hen the sun goes down. Just grab your popcorn, pick up a scratch card or two, get a drink from the outside bar and enjoy the magical atmosphere.
This is a FREE community event but for health and safety reasons, the numbers are limited and admission to the ‘Hertford Heath Multiplex Screen 1’ will be by TICKET ONLY.
Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis, and can be obtained from The Goat during opening hours.
Big Hero 6
As dusk settles, the Village Green will come alive to the sights and sounds of an open-air cinema provided in conjunction with generous support from The Goat.
This year, the film is Big Hero 6. The story of a special bond that develops between a plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax and his prodigy Hiro Hamada, who together team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.
